“ When I began my writing career, I was a full custody parent working nine-to-five. I found it difficult to make space to write, and to keep my inspiration constant. Life happens, things get in the way. One day you wake up and years have passed you by and you still have not made the space to start or finish that novel. I wish something like this had existed ten years ago, but instead, I kept running into critique groups, writing challenges, writers’ communities, which are all great avenues to meet like minded people – but if you’re already short on time, going to these events can be inspirational, but they are not providing the space for you to just sit down and do the work.
